This Privacy Policy explains how Utopia Applications LLC (“Swapizy”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Swapizy app, website, and related services.

Swapizy is an item-swapping app. Users add items, choose one active item for exchange, browse nearby items, like or dislike items they would trade for, and chat after a mutual match.

Information we collect

We collect the information needed to operate the service:

  • Account information: phone number, email address, username, profile photo, profile description, account status, rating status, and authentication tokens.
  • Verification information: SMS verification status, verification attempts, request timestamps, and anti-abuse signals such as IP address.
  • Item information: item title, description, category, photos, active item status, creation date, owner account, reports, ban status, and removal status.
  • Matching information: likes, dislikes, matches, active item relationships, and related item metadata.
  • Chat information: chat participants, message content, message metadata, item titles and photos shown in chat, and moderation data related to chats.
  • Location information: latitude, longitude, selected search radius, and category preferences. We use this to show items within the distance selected by the user.
  • Device and notification information: Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens, device platform, app version, and push notification delivery data.
  • Support and moderation information: reports, support messages, screenshots or details you send us, moderation decisions, and safety-related notes.
  • Technical logs: server logs, request metadata, timestamps, error data, and security logs.
  • Analytics information: app opens, screens, sessions, approximate location, device model, operating system, and similar usage metrics through Firebase Analytics.

Firebase Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics to understand whether the app works reliably, which screens are used, and where users encounter friction. We do not use Firebase Analytics for advertising, ad personalization, or cross-app tracking.

Our intended configuration is to disable advertising identifier collection and advertising personalization signals. Firebase Analytics may still use an app-instance identifier to measure app usage for one installation of the app.

How we use information

We use information to:

  • create and secure accounts;
  • verify phone numbers;
  • show items that match the user’s active item, selected categories, and search radius;
  • process likes, dislikes, matches, and chats;
  • send service notifications;
  • provide support;
  • review reports and enforce rules;
  • prevent spam, abuse, fraud, and unsafe behavior;
  • maintain backups and restore service availability;
  • debug crashes, errors, and performance issues;
  • improve the app experience and plan product changes.

We do not sell personal information.

Sharing and service providers

We share information only when needed to operate Swapizy, comply with law, protect users, or use service providers. These providers may process information for us:

  • Hosting provider: stores and runs the backend and database.
  • Cloudflare Images: stores and delivers item photos and profile images.
  • Cloudflare R2: stores encrypted or access-controlled database backups.
  • Stream: provides chat infrastructure.
  • Prelude: sends and verifies SMS codes.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging: sends push notifications.
  • Firebase Analytics: provides app analytics.
  • Google services: may support sign-in, app distribution, crash or device services, and Play Console requirements.

These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States and other countries where they operate.

International transfers

Swapizy is operated by a United States company. The backend, image storage, backups, SMS verification, chat, push notification, and analytics providers may process data outside the country where you live. By using Swapizy, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in other countries.

Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, protect users, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms.

When an account is deleted, we hide or remove user items from active discovery, revoke authentication and device tokens, stop push notifications for the account, freeze related chats, remove or de-identify public profile data where technically possible, and stop using the account for normal service activity.

We may retain limited records when needed for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, moderation, or backup recovery. This may include internal account IDs, phone numbers, email addresses, social sign-in identifiers, reports, moderation records, item and chat context related to safety issues, limited server logs, and backup copies until they expire through normal backup rotation. Restricted account identifiers used for safety and fraud prevention may be retained for up to 180 days after deletion unless a longer period is required by law, an active dispute, a safety review, or an abuse investigation.

Your choices and rights

You can:

  • update your profile and items in the app;
  • change your active item;
  • change your search radius and category preferences;
  • delete items;
  • request account deletion;
  • contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of your information;
  • report items, chats, or accounts that violate the rules.

To make a privacy request, contact support@utopiaapplications.com. We may need to verify your account before acting on the request.

Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including HTTPS, restricted server access, database backups, access controls, monitoring, and provider security controls. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Children

Swapizy is not intended for children. You must be at least 18 years old or the age required by local law to use Swapizy. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact support@utopiaapplications.com.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as the service changes. If changes are material, we will update the date above and may provide additional notice in the app or on the website.
